The nearest airport to Sundarbans is the Dum Dum airport at Kolkata, which is nearly 166 km away. Kolkata is an important International airport, which is well connected to many cities in India and abroad. Tourist pre-paid taxi charges about Rs 3500 from Kolkata to Sundarbans.</p>
<p>Rail<br />
Canning railway station is the nearest railhead from Sundarbans. It is 48 km away from Sundarbans and the taxi fare is about Rs 1000. Canning station is connected by regular passenger and express trains to Kolkata and Howrah. All major trains stop at Howrah, which is nearly 100 km away from Sundarbans.</p>
<p>Road<br />
Sundarbans is well linked with many cities in the state West Bengal by state road transport corporation buses. The cities Kolkata (166 km), Najat (92 km), Raidighi (76 km) and Namkhana (105 km) are all connected to Sundarbans by bus services.</p>

Within three days you can also visit the various places of tourist interest and spend time picking up local artifacts from the numerous curio shops dotting this hill resort.</p>
<p>For those wanting to explore the Hills, we suggest that you spend at least five days in the region. You could start your vacation by spending a night beside the picturesque lake at Mirik before heading towards Darjeeling for three days. You could then take a three hour drive to Kalimpong and spend one nights visiting the numerous flower nurseries in this quiet town before wrapping up your holiday.</p>
